Royal Caribbean - Symphony of the seas launch - the BRIEF
Create a PR stunt and therefore film and photography to launch the World’s biggest cruise ship. The catch? There was no access to the ship until later in the year and Royal Caribbean wanted people to start booking now!
Royal Caribbean - Symphony of the seas launch - the solution
We knew that people usually relied on travel agents and brochures to book their holidays, but as Royal Caribbean is no ordinary brand we couldn’t do this in the ordinary way.
Introducing Symphony of the Senses, the first ‘ship’ on dry land. A pop up travel agent on an ordinary high street, but with a twist. Behind the travel agents was the world of Royal Caribbean. We worked with Bearded Kitten to recreate the ship, with everything from a Sugar Beach candy shop to a ‘real’ jungle. In order to spread the world and help share the magic with those not at the event, we created two films. One for social and one for press. I art directed the edits to ensure they were very different, with the press film showcasing a strong narrative and the social one taking fans on a POV journey through the experience. I also directed a photographer to ensure we captured social first content for their instagram.
